ASD (Autism) Assessment
Comprehensive autism assessment for children and adults.
An autism assessment provides clarity and a foundation for the right support at home, at school and at work. Our psychologists carry out thorough, structured assessments for both children and adults.
An assessment can help with
- Understanding social, communication and sensory differences
- Access to school and workplace support
- Informed next steps for family and carers
- A clear written report for schools or employers
What the assessment involves
A comprehensive assessment typically includes a detailed developmental and personal history, structured observation, standardised tools, and input from family or school where relevant. You receive a written report with findings and practical recommendations.

How much does an autism assessment cost in Zimbabwe?+
A full ASD (autism) assessment is US$200. That covers the initial consultation and developmental history, structured observation and standardised tools, the written report, and a feedback session to explain the outcome and recommendations. Any follow-up therapy or review appointments are charged separately.
Does medical aid cover an autism assessment?+
Several of our psychologists bill medical aid, and psychological assessment is covered by some plans but not all — it is often paid from a limited annual mental-health benefit rather than the main hospital benefit. Check with your society before booking so you know what you will be reimbursed, and we can provide an invoice either way.
Are your reports accepted by schools and employers?+
Yes. Our written reports are prepared by registered psychologists and are suitable for schools, employers and other professionals, subject to their own requirements.
Can adults be assessed for autism?+
Yes. We assess both children and adults. Many adults seek an assessment to better understand themselves and to access support.
How long does the assessment take?+
It varies with age and complexity, and usually spans more than one appointment. We will give you a clear plan and timeline at the start.
